Dancing in the October sunshine

Etcetera Morris Men made the most of a sunny autumn Sunday in Enfield yesterday, dancing out at two local institutions.

In the morning we joined in the fun at the Chickenshed Family Fun Day.  The sun shone on the 3km Fun Run (we thought it best not to take part in to save our energy for the dances) and stayed out for our display in the amphitheatre.  Many thanks to the team at the Chickenshed for the warm welcome – we’ve not been there before –  and for joining in with our traditional farewell dance.

In the autumn sunshine we then hot-footed it across the borough to Forty Hall Farm.

Announcing – Morris Dancing Taster Sessions!

We’re introducing a monthly “Taster Session” on the third Monday of every month.

We know it can be a bit daunting taking your first steps or playing your first notes for Morris Dancing or with a new side. Some of us have been doing it for over thirty or forty years, others only started with us recently.

No matter if you have experience of dancing and playing the Morris or not, we always welcome new members, and will show you the basics and build it up from there. Continue reading →

The Day of Dance is here!

Today’s your chance to see traditional English dancing – specifically Morris Dancing from the Cotswolds – in Enfield Town.We’re joined by friends from Whitchurch Morris Men and the Squire has said “We’re really looking forward to joining in the festivities at the Enfield Town and Country Show as part of our Day of Dance. After the success of last year’s event we are back, and we’re always on the lookout for new members to help sustain the tradition.”
