Etcetera Folk – Enfield’s local English folk dance club

Etcetera Folk hosts monthly English Country Dancing sessions in Enfield.

Our English Country Dance Sessions run once a month on the first Monday of the month (though watch out for Bank and Public Holidays when we don’t meet and move the session to the next week).  See the Diary page for confirmed up-coming dates.

The English Country Dance Sessions feature our own live band with acoustic instruments, and instructions for how to do the dances from our own members.  New members are always welcome.

The group was formed under the auspices of the borough’s teachers’ social club in the first half of the 1970s.  This meant practices were held at the local Enfield Teacher’s Centre and thus the name Etcetera was coined for the group.  The Enfield Teacher’s Centre was later renamed the Professional Development Centre, but “PDC Folk” didn’t quite have the same ring to it, so the group stayed as Etcetera Folk.

Etcetera Morris Men was founded as a part of Etcetera Folk.
