We take your privacy seriously and process your personal information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) apply from 25 May 2018. As such, we now require permission from “contacts” (current and past dancers/musicians, friends of, people we have danced for or with, and organisations and venues that we have ‘worked’ with etc.) to hold data such as name, email address, phone number, address etc.
What information we collect
When you complete one of our forms, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, or other details you provide.
Why we collect it
We use your information only for the purpose you have chosen, for example:
- To respond to an enquiry about joining the side.
- To respond to a booking enquiry, media enquiry, or other message.
- To send you information about a specific event you have signed up for.
- To send you occasional updates about our activities, if you have opted into our general mailing list.
Our legal basis
Etcetera Morris Men, an informal ‘club’ with no legal status, undertakes to:
- store all data securely
- never pass on your data to an outside organisation unless you have given us explicit permission
- delete all your personal data within 30 days if you cease by written request to be a contact
- provide you with details of the data we hold relating to you within 30 days of a written request to do so.
We rely on your consent as the lawful basis for processing your personal data. Consent is given when you submit a form and, where applicable, by opting join our general mailing list.
How we store your data
Your details are stored securely and are never shared with third parties.
How long we keep your data
- Mailing list opt-ins – kept until you unsubscribe.
- Contact us enquiries – kept only as long as needed to deal with your request.
- Event sign-ups – kept until the event has finished (and no later than three months afterwards).
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete your information.
- Withdraw your consent at any time – e.g. to request removal from our mailing list
