We’re mid-way through the Morris fun at Enfield Market. If you missed the first spot we’re back on at 12:30pm. Come down and support your local Morris Dancing side – Etcetera Morris Men – and your local market in the glorious late, late autumn sunshine.
Thanks to to Enfield Market Instagram feed for this picture of us dancing to the tune of Ploughboy’s Dream (our own dance in the style of Fieldtown) and short video clip of us dancing Constant Billy (from Headington Quarry).
Etcetera Morris Men’s practice sessions are now in full swing – and it’s never too late to get in touch with us to attend your first practice session. We can show you the steps, the arm movements and stick clashes required, before we all head down to the pub for well earned refreshment…
If you’re not clear what Cotswold Morris Dancing is or you’ve still not seen us out and about in Enfield (where have you been?) then don’t worry, there is still another chance to catch up with us in Enfield Town in 2015 following our day out at the start of the month.
Today’s your chance to see traditional English dancing – specifically Morris Dancing from the Cotswolds – in Enfield Town. We’re joined by friends from Whitchurch Morris Men and the Squire has said “We’re really looking forward to joining in the festivities at the Enfield Town and Country Show as part of our Day of Dance. After the success of last year’s event we are back, and we’re always on the lookout for new members to help sustain the tradition.”
Visit etcmorrismen.org.uk/day-of-dance for more information.
We’ll be marking the end of our 40th anniversary year by having another Day of Dance! Details can be found on our Day of Dance page, but in summary we’ll be appearing in the Town Park at the Enfield Town Show, in the Town and then at a couple of pubs nearby (no surprise there then!).
